How do I get rid of spyware in yahoo messenger?

I have looked and noticed that there are some of my friends on yahoo messenger who have status messages that refer to sexy girls looking to chat and don’t know how to get rid of them. I run my spyware program regularly but they don’t get rid of the status messages. How do I get rid of this spyware that has obviously taken over my yahoo messenger?

identity theft/other problems?

identity theft software
Nick B asked:

i have people who have found my services (computer repair) on craigslist, and emailed me. they do not say anything specific about me, nor my company.

they all say the same basic thing, and many sentence show up exactly the same in all three letters. the only differences are the first two to three introductory emails, and the number and models of the computers.
they requested my name so that they may make the check for me. they also requested the billing and shipping address.

some of the grammar is incorrect.1 of the email addresses are from Yahoo! and the other is from gmail.

they all offered to pay shipping of the equipment, and say that they will provide the software.

should i be worried?

It doesnt say who exactly sent that email and by using which software. I’m afraid my email address is being falsely used without my notice. Is there a way for me to determine who sent that email? how can i stop this?
