How can I stop the invasion of spyware and tracking cookies?

I run Webfoot Window Washer and every day it deletes 3000 units of Spyware and Tracking Cookies that amount to 60MB. But almost as soon as the software has run they are back again and overwhelming my AVG software and filling the virus vault. Is there anything else I can do?
