European workshop for MIDCAS

Representatives from European aviation authorities, air traffic management organisations and aviation industries gathered today in Brussels to attend the first workshop of the European collaboration project MIDCAS, Mid-Air Collision Avoidance System. In the future, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAVs, will operate in civilian airspace along with other aircraft. For this to work, the unmanned craft must have a system for detecting and avoiding other aircraft; what is known as a Sense & Avoid System

Government Home Access computer scheme uses Netintelligence e-safety

Netintelligence, the internet security and safety arm of hosting provider iomart Group plc, has been chosen to provide the e-safety software to support the Government's initiative to ensure computer access for more low income children in state education in England. The Home Access programme will be formally rolled out from early 2010 following two highly successful pilots in the Oldham and Sussex local authority areas.
