How ITIL Cuts Costs

ITIL may not ring a bell to those just starting in the IT industry. It stands for Information Technology Infrastructure Library, a group of concepts and practices for managing IT. The then-called Central Computer and Telecommunications agency (CCTA), now titled Office of Government Commerce (OGC), created the concept when it was instructed to make an approach for efficient and cost efficient use of IT resources in the 1980s. Their goal was to create an approach that is not dependent on any provider, which resulted in what we call now as ITIL.
