Thales is selected to extend the French Army’s RITA communications network

Thales has signed a €240M contract with the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) to extend the French Army's RITA (Réseau Intégré de Transmissions Automatiques or Automated Integrated Communications Network). As part of this contract, named RITA N4, Thales will provide the Army with high-performance IP communications systems for battalion Command Posts. Rolls-Royce announces £154M recommended offer for ODIM ASA

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, today announced that it has reached an agreement with the Board of ODIM ASA to launch a recommended cash offer for the 67 per cent of the share capital not already held by the Group. Under the terms of the agreement, Rolls-Royce (the 'offeror') will offer ODIM ASA shareholders NOK 45 per share, representing a total consideration of approximately NOK 1.4bn (circa £154m), to be settled in cash from the Group's existing resources. Rolls-Royce currently holds 15,545,634 ODIM ASA shares, comprising 33 per cent of the issued share capital acquired for NOK 45 per share in July 2009

Boeing Completes Phase 2 of Turkish Industrial Participation Program

European workshop for MIDCAS

Representatives from European aviation authorities, air traffic management organisations and aviation industries gathered today in Brussels to attend the first workshop of the European collaboration project MIDCAS, Mid-Air Collision Avoidance System. In the future, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAVs, will operate in civilian airspace along with other aircraft. For this to work, the unmanned craft must have a system for detecting and avoiding other aircraft; what is known as a Sense & Avoid System
