Aaron W. Smith Helps Feed Mid-Missouri Children With Contribution to The Buddy Pack Program

Columbia, MO (PRWEB) May 04, 2012

Aaron Smith presented a $ 250 to The Mid-Missouri Food Bank to help fund their Buddy Pack Program in Boone County, Missouri. The Food Bank partners with elementary schools in the 32 counties it serves to provide Buddy Packs to school children. Buddy Packs are backpacks filled with kid-friendly, nutritious food for children to take home with them over the weekend and holiday breaks to supplement their meals when there is not enough to eat at home.

Around 55,000 students in the food banks service area qualify for free or reduced school meals. For many of these children, the breakfast and lunch they receive at school offer the only source of reliable nutrition; they are at risk of hunger over the weekends. The Buddy Pack Program aims to alleviate that risk.

Aaron Smith, President of The A.W. Smith Law Firm, a Columbia, Missouri personal injury law firm, is making a dedicated effort to fulfill his social responsibility by addressing the needs of the community and those in surrounding areas. Aaron Smith grants charitable contributions to organizations in the Mid-Missouri area that have dedicated themselves to promoting the welfare of their communities and the people in them. All of this is made possible through the hard work and generosity of Aaron W. Smith (also known as “A.W.”).

“I am ecstatic to be able to make this donation to the Food Bank,” stated A.W. Smith. “The Buddy Pack Program is crucial to the survival and nutritional needs of the children it serves. Without the help and support of the community, the Food Bank would be unable to fund programs such as this,” he said, “It is our responsibility as a community to rally around these children to ensure that one of their most basic needs is met.”

Elmira Motorcycle Accident Attorney Calls for All Who Use the Road to Observe “Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month”

Elmira, NY (PRWEB) May 03, 2012

Elmira motorcycle accident attorney Scott C. Gottlieb today urged motorcyclists and motorists alike to take Mays designation as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month to heart and look out for each other.

Share the road is more than a slogan. Its a reminder that everyone has a right to use New York roads with the confidence that others around them are acting safely, said Gottlieb of the personal injury firm, The Law Offices of Scott C. Gottlieb & Associates, LLP.

Sharing the road means theres a mutual responsibility among motorcyclists and motorists to keep our roads safe, he said.

Throughout May, in observance of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) encourages motorists to share the road with motorcyclists and be extra alert when they are nearby.

The NHTSA says motorcyclist fatalities increased slightly in 2010 to 4,502, which was 14 percent of total highway fatalities for the year. The increase in fatal motorcycle wrecks in 2010 renewed a 13-year trend that was interrupted by a one-year decline in 2009, when 4,469 motorcyclists were killed.

In New York in 2010, 173 motorcycle drivers died, or more than 3 percent of the motorcyclists involved in a reported 5,570 motorcycle crashes, according to the state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The DMV says 4,819 motorcyclists, or 86.5 percent of motorcyclists involved in crashes, were injured in accidents in 2010. Another 520 motorcycle passengers were hurt.

Gottlieb, whose firm investigates personal injury lawsuits and negotiates insurance settlements in central New York on behalf of motorcyclists, said car, truck and bus drivers must remember to look out for motorcycle riders. He added that motorcycle riders must also obey traffic laws, including wearing DOT-compliant helmets and other protective gear. They should also make themselves visible to motorists by wearing bright colors, he said.

Drivers must take extra care when they are sharing a road with a motorcycle, Gottlieb said. Motorists need to make it a habit to leave plenty of room between their vehicles and motorcycles, check blind spots thoroughly when motorcycles are nearby and make sure they dont turn in front of motorcycles at intersections.

Even the safest motorcycle rider can be hurt in an accident caused by someone else, Gottlieb said. Those who are seriously injured because of a reckless or negligent act by another driver have a right to recover compensation for their losses due to medical expenses, property damage, and pain and suffering.

Sometimes it takes a personal injury lawsuit or, in the case of a fatality, a wrongful death lawsuit to recover damages that the injured party is entitled to and in fact needs to fully recover, the veteran Elmira personal injury lawyer said.

At our firm, we are proud to stand up for the rights of injured motorcyclists and will continue to promote safe practices on the part of motorcycle riders and all others who use our highways.

Q&A: Question about Muay Thai Liniment Massage Oil?

Question by : Question about Muay Thai Liniment Massage Oil?
Question about Muay Thai Liniment Massage Oil?
On a website I have read that sentence: “Even a small bottle will last a long time as only a small amount is used each time. For personal use a bottle may last several yaers depending on frequency of use and number of injuries.”

But, 120 ml of that oil is so expensive for me and only small amount is used each time?
Whenever I have seen Muay Thai fighters, their whole body was shining by oil. Is that a small amount?

What is the truth, can you tell me please.

Best answer:

Answer by Namman Muay
A 120 ML / 4 OZ is not expensive when you consider it’s benefits and that it lasts a really long time and goes a long way. Most daily users go through a bottle every 6-8 weeks. Make sure you get your Thai Liniment (called Namman Muay) from an authorized retailer or from the North American distributor: Competitive ACE (www.CompetitiveACE.com). Getting it from a trusted source will ensure you get fresh product with a long shelf life and that the product has kept in the appropriate temperature ranges. It also has the translated label and the manufacturer and expiration date. Many smugglers carry old or expired product and you have no idea what temperature conditions the product has been warehoused in. www.CompetitiveACE.com

Help…I need to know how to get a Domestic violence charge expunged..?

Question by scoobyllrn: Help…I need to know how to get a Domestic violence charge expunged..?
Hi. Back in 2008, my marine husband and i got into a physical fight. He pushing me against a wall, i punched him in the mouth, he threw me over a foot stool and i thought he was gonna hurt me worse. i ran for knife for defense and she smacked it out of my hands and beat me anyways. i threatened to call the cops and he ran like a punk. later i was driving to blow of steam and i saw his truck at the police station so i stopped to see what was going on.i walked in and he was showing them all his “injuries”. im not a lier so i admitted everything i did and what he did. but the police said they have to take someone to court and it seemed i was the agressor becuase i threw the first punch and i grabbed the knife but they dropped the thing about the knife becuase they know he tried to set me up. i was release on P.R. Bond, (he supposably cried and wrote a letter to the judge saying to have mercy on me) and put on 4 months probation with manitory marriage/anger managment counseling. i completed the probabtion, as a matter of fact the officer said in his own personal judment i shouldnt have ever had to go through this, and my husband was supposed to pay my $ 500 fine. he paid it all up to the last $ 100, and i had to have it by a certain date so it would be expunged from my record. he paid it the day after. now its on my record. now in 2010, this man is cheating on me and im ready to get divorce papers. i tirieed to get a job with the local fire dept. they want me, they say i would be a great asset to the department and i have all the qualifications but becuase of that charge i cant get on. this man messed up my life to the furthest degree. but i need to know, how do i start to try to get it expunged. i live in michigan so i dont know how to start …plus i want to know what and how else i can get him charged for infidelity and conduct unbecoming in the military since he is inthe reserves. he goes around telling people he saved lives when he has never never had a deployment. there were times his whole unit went but him and a few other people. that says alot to me.but i want to know advice on this expungement and the militay issue…thank you for your time.

Answer by rafferty
You can’t get a DV charged expunged in MI. Nor does MI have alienation of affection or any other “fidelity” causes of action.

What you need to do is get divorced, move on and stay away from each other.

I still don’t understand how it is all his fault though.

What do you think of this? 10 points?

Question by M T: What do you think of this? 10 points?
Now it may suck..
What do you think? Novel?
Preface

The pain seared into my skin. How could this pain be so important? I couldn’t understand. I screamed for someone to help me. Some of the girls turned away and covered their ears. The guys just looked solemn. Worst of all, my own mother would not help me. I looked with fear with what life I had left. I slowly went into the cold darkness.

Chapter 1- The Moving
I fumbled to get the seatbelt or whatever you call it off. My mother was getting irritated with me stuck in my seat. “Yes!!” I said. “Finally.” When we got to the airport, I went smack into the vending machine. “Eeep!!” I squeaked before I went down. “Ugh, what am I going to do with you, Victoria?” My mother inquired. I laughed. “It’s your fault that you conceived me, mom.” She picked me up with no effort. “Another trip to my personal office”, my mother sighed while saying. “How did you slam into the machine anyway?” I was trying to get out of the airport before they closed.” I said

“You and your fears, and it’s only 3:00 in the afternoon!”
“But… But…”
” C’mon.” my mother said. “You stay close to me, you understand? I don’t want you to smack right into the window next.” She chuckled. She thinks she’s funny but she’s not. She is kinda like me only she’s calmer, most of the time anyway.

I shook my head, trying to get the stars out. My name is Victoria and I am Asian. Some stupid racists people have made fun of me for it and as the result, I punched them very hard.

We walked out of the airport without me getting more injuries. “Where is the house?” “Be quiet” my mother said with a stern voice. “Ok. TAXI!!!!” my mother screamed. It had seemed that all the windows broke at the start my mother yelled. She has a VERY loud and high pitched voice. I have the same genes which did not help me during high school tryouts to be singing. One thing about my voice that is different with hers is that I can actually sing. But sometimes her genes take over and then I have to be sent home with a bill attached to my homework.

A taxi cab came and we entered. The taxi man looked scared as if my mother was going to scream her head off. She handed the place she wanted to go. The man shut the window that was the only thing we had to talk to him. I gave her a pity look which I had PLENTY of. “What?” my mom obviously did not get the fact that she scared the man out of his wits. “Nothing” She looked at me with skepticism like she was trying to read my thoughts.

The man stopped the car abruptly; so hard I bumped my head on the window. I yelped. My mother didn’t say anything; she just shook her head. My mother’s Asian name is Mei, but her American name is Linda. My mother didn’t say anything. She was probably thinking about the home and our future. I wasn’t surprised that she would buy a mansion what with how much money would make each year.

We took our luggage without the taxi man’s help. After all the things were out, the car sped off, without the tip. “Huh” I rolled my eyes. We faced the house. Now it wasn’t really a house but a mansion. “Whoa” I said amazed at the size.
I know I need work.
The story is about Victoria finding out she’s a demon and even more surprising, a half-demon..

Pennsylvania Truck Accident Lawyer Focuses on National Legal, Policy Issues in April

Scranton, PA (PRWEB) April 28, 2012

Pennsylvania truck accident lawyer Daniel W. Munley focused on national legal and public policy issues this month as part of his active leadership role within the American Association for Justice.

Munley, Chair of the AAJs Trucking Litigation Group, recently attended a legal seminar on interstate truck accident and bus accident cases in Houston, Texas. He also attended the AAJs Public Affairs Committee meeting earlier in the month in Santa Monica, California.

Being involved with the AAJ allows our law firm to stay on top of emerging issues that can affect our clients, and it also benefits our clients by allowing us to learn about the latest trends and strategies in accident litigation, said Munley, a partner in the Pennsylvania personal injury firm of Munley, Munley & Cartwright, P.C.

Munley focuses his legal practice on representing victims of tractor-trailer accidents in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and across the Northeast. He has helped victims to recover millions of dollars in compensation for their losses.

The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is the largest organization of trial attorneys in the country. The AAJ is dedicated to promoting a fair and effective justice system and protecting the rights of those who are injured by the misconduct or negligence of other individuals and corporations.

Munley is a charter member of the AAJs Trucking Litigation Group and has served as its chair since 2011. He has given lectures across the U.S. on how to approach truck and bus accident cases.

These cases are very unique and must be handled in a very efficient and special manner, Munley said. They involve evidence, such as logbooks, that can be quickly destroyed, and they can involve multiple parties and complex rules and regulations.

I think its important to share my own experience and insights in this area of the law with fellow truck accident attorneys. In the end, our goal is the same: We want to hold negligent trucking companies and drivers accountable and make sure our clients get the maximum amount of compensation, which they deserve.

In March, Munley was appointed to the AAJs Public Affairs Committee. The group focuses on relevant policy issues pending in Congress and the issues trial lawyers would like to raise in Congress on matters ranging from tort reform to consumer rights.

About Munley, Munley & Cartwright, P.C.

Munley, Munley & Cartwright, P.C., is a Pennsylvania accident and injury law firm that represents car accident victims and their families throughout the state of Pennsylvania and the Northeast, including those injured in accidents that involve speeding, distracted driving, drunk driving, fatigued driving, aggressive driving and careless driving in hazardous weather conditions.
