Erin R asked:
My brother recently lost his I.D./License at the bar. He has talked to the staff at the bar and asked them to watch out for it or if someone turns it in. He has also filed a police report. What other things should he be doing to avoid any future identity theft or fraud against him?

i would call the person who had set you up for those and tell them if any thing weird is going on to call
I would recommend that he contact one of the three major credit reporting agencies, Equifax, TransUnion, or Experian, and place a 90 day fraud alert on his credit history. This can be renewed from time to time. During the initial fraud alert, he should request an extended alert which lasts for seven years. This extended alert must be a written request accompanied with a copy of the police report.
I would also suggest checking his driver’s histroy and criminal history every year for a few years and then every couple of years after.
