		<description>You don&#039;t need to waste money on identity theft protection plans. Just have a credit freeze placed on your credit files (you can do this is almost every state now). That way no one (including you) can get credit in your name. If you need to get credit in the future (say to apply for a mortgage), you can temporarily have the credit freeze lifted and then reinstated when you are done.</description>
