Why don’t consumer protection agencies in western cultures protect consumers from religious scams?

Religion IS a scam. You’d have to outlaw religion altogether… which violates the first amendment.
I could say not enough personnel, but it’s not like someone would have to investigate. If a religion is receiving money, it’s for a false claim.

there’s no such thing as a religious scam, all religion is a scam. if any money changes hands what are you gonna do? prove god doesn’t exist?

It’s an invisible product that’s been around since the dawn of Man….it may be a scam but they have one hell of an advertisment campaign…

They should. Peter Popoff has been exposed as a fraud yet he is still making millions using various religious scams. His latest is miracle water. The only problem is, you could warn everyone in the world that someone is a crook, but some people want to believe so bad, that no amount of evidence will sway their belief. I guess you can’t outlaw stubborn ignorance.
you are only scammed if you take part in something as in buying or signing up in a organization etc. policing everything would be almost impossible without a complaint process from which consumers affected complain about be it one or a class action suit. So if you feel that one or more people or an organization has abused (you) or others by their actions (you) or a group of people can seek legal ways to have it stopped. Read the fine print because if there is fine print it means the person or persons have put a lot of thought into shoving it up your butt lol. However, lol it works both ways since the only way an occurrence can take place is by push come to shove, or for every action there is a reaction. you asked I replied pretty simple is it not. lol
Mainly because religions do not have to report financial transactions…if you are a registered church that is it…no one can investigate your financials unless you voluntarily submit…therefore no scam can be proven…Hell here in USA they could do little to nothing about molesting priests of the catholic church how are they supposed to do something about a the gullible giving their welfare checks to a televangelist? or a brick and mortar congregation?
