What is the BEST Anti-virus, identity theft software for a home computer?
Carbcounter asked:
I am looking to protect a home computer from any new viruses, protect my identity while shopping on the internet (passwords, credit card numbers & social security number), delete any virus threats, tracking cookies and alert me when there is a problem without crashing the computer.
I am looking for a really efficient program at a reasonable price.
I have looked at AVG, McAfee, Norton 360 and Internet 2009. There are so many out there so I’d really like to have some tech people respond to this.
thanks

Hi,
According to me avira is best. I always used avira and it works great,
You can find it from:
Damon
AVG and Norton360 are really good. I recomend them both. My dad has Norton360 and my step dad had AVG. Hmm I think Norton360 would be the best.
go to avastfreedownload.com.. its free and works great..
click on the following link:
you should get the McAfee thats the one i have and it really works good,
it gives you identity protection and anti-virus and more. Like email protection and protection from spyware.
and i download it for free but i forgot the site where i download it, i remember its on rapidshare, but if you really want it i can look it up for you and give you the link so you dont have to waste your money to buy an anti-virus.
but the thing is everything in the internet is not safe from hackers and viruses, just because you have an anti-virus doesn’t mean viruses can’t get into your computer there are bad sites you can’t be trusted and sometimes they have virus so you have to choose a site that is completely protected and trustworthy or else they gonna stole your identity.
and when virus gets into your computer run a full scan on your computer and everytime you download something scan it to make sure it doesn’t contain virus and if it does just remove it from your computer.
your question is two parts so
1. Avast Home Edition free version has given me better results for virus scanning and threat detection
2. Identity theft is up to you and your choices never never use your credit card number on line.
What you are looking is an internet security suite with all features. You should try the new Norton Internet Suite 2009 which is suprisingly small and low on resources compared to previous versions. You could also try kaspersky internet suite.
